Translations of Gazals

ZIndagi Jab Bhi teri..from Umrao Jaan. Talat Aziz.

Zindagi Jab Bhi Teri Bazm Mein Lati Hai Hamein
Movie: Umrao Jaan , Sung By: Talat Aziz , Music By: Khaiyyam

Zindagi jab bhi teri bazm mein laati hai hamein
Yeh zamin chand se behatar nazar aati hai hamein

Surkh phulon se mahak uthati hain dil ki raahen
Din dhale yun teri aawaaz bulati hai hamein
Zindagi

Yaad teri kabhi dastak kabhi saragoshi se
Raat ke pichhale pahar roz jagaati hai hamein
Zindagi

Har mulaqaat ka anjaam judaai kyun hai
Ab toh har waqt yahi baat sataati hai hamein
Zindagi

Whenever life brings me to your presence,
This earth seems to be lovelier than the moon,

The paths of my heart are filled with the fragrance of red flowers ,
Whenever life brings me to your presence,
This earth seems to be lovelier than the moon,
Every dusk onwards your voice calls out to me.
Whenever life brings me to your presence,
This earth seems to be lovelier than the moon,

Your memories, sometimes knocking, sometimes whispering,
Wake me up in the late hours of the night.
Whenever life brings me to your presence,
This earth seems to be lovelier than the moon,

Why is parting the result of every meeting?
Just this thought troubles me all the while.
Whenever life brings me to your presence,
This earth seems to be lovelier than the moon,

Transalation of Bol Rahatha sung By Ahmad Hussain and Mohd. Hussain,

Bol raha tha kal wo mujh sey, haath mein mera haath liye,
Chalte rahenge such dukh mein hum, saarey mausam saath liye.
Taking my hand in hers,She was saying to me yesterday,
We shall walk together in happiness n sorrow, and enjoy every season.

Usne apnee jholee sey kal pyaar ke humko phool diye,
Laut aye hain daman bharke, uskee yeh saugaat liye.
From her bag, yesterday she has given me the flowers of love,
I have returned overloaded with this benevolence,

Taking my hand in hers,She was saying to me yesterday,
We shall walk together in happiness n sorrow, and enjoy every season.

Rang dalo tanmankee bagiyaa,Fagun banke cha jao,
Baras pado dilke angan mein, rangokee barsaat liye.
Colour up the garden of my body n heart, become the season of love,
Rain down into the garden of my heart, with colourful showers.
Taking my hand in hers,She was saying to me yesterday,
We shall walk together in happiness n sorrow, and enjoy every season.

Humne apnee saaree raatein likh dee unke naam Kateel,
Umarka lamha lamha beeta unko apne saath liye,
All the evenings, I have written in her name,
Every moment of life, passed having her with me.
Taking my hand in hers,She was saying to me yesterday,
We shall walk together in happiness n sorrow, and enjoy every season.

Hope some one out there likes to see the transalations.
Luv soommey.

FRIENDSHIP

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the
scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was recently dead.

He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for
years. He wondered where the road was leading them.

After a while, they came to a high, white marble wall along one side of the
road. At the top of a long hill, the wall was broken by a tall arch that
glowed in the sunlight.

He soon saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like
mother-of-pearl, and the street beyond the gate looked like pure gold.
He and the dog walked toward the gate and, as he got closer, he saw a man
at a desk to one side.

When he was close enough, he called out, "Excuse me, where are we?"

"This is Heaven, sir," the man answered.

"Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked.

"Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right
up."

The man gestured, and the gate began to open.

"Can my friend," gesturing toward his dog, "come in, too?" the traveler
asked.

"I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets."

The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued
the way he had been going with his dog.

After another long walk, at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt
road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been
closed. There was no fence.

As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and
reading a book.

"Excuse me!" he called to the man. "Do you have any water?"

"Yes, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in."

"How about my friend here?" the traveler gestured to the dog.

"There should be a bowl by the pump."

They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned
hand pump with a bowl beside it.

The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he
gave some to the dog.

When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was
standing by the tree.

"What do you call this place?" the traveler asked.

"This is Heaven," he answered.

"Well, that's confusing," the traveler said "The man down the road said
that was Heaven, too."

"Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's
hell."

"Doesn't it make you angry for them to use your name like that?"

"No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their
best friends behind."

Soooo...

Sometimes, we wonder why friends keep forwarding jokes to us without
writing a word. Maybe this will explain.

When you are very busy, but still want to keep in touch, guess what you do.
You forward a joke. When you have nothing to say, but still want to keep
contact, you forward a joke. When you have something to say, but don't know
what or how to say it, you forward a joke.

Also, to let you know that you are still remembered, you are still
important, you are still loved, and you are still cared for, guess what you
get?

A forwarded joke.

So next time you get a joke from me, don't think that you've been sent just
another forwarded joke, but know that you've been thought of today and your
friend on the other end of your computer wanted to send you a smile.

Know that you are welcome to my water bowl anytime.

Translation of Pal Pal dilke Paas tum rehtee ho Lyrics

A very popular Indian song form the movie Blackmail, sung by Kishor Kumar.

There is soft longing n fantastic poetry in here..those of you who dont follow Hindi, can use the translated lyrics.

The soul n the flavour cannot be translated though, all the same, read it twice thrice, it grows on you.

Watch it here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBBeBpe1nLc

Pal Pal Dilke Pass tum rehtee ho!

Pal pal dilke pass tum rehtee ho,

Every second you are close to my heart,

Pal pal dilke pass tum rehtee ho,

Pal pal dilke pass tum rehtee ho,

Jeevan meethee pyaas yeh kehtee ho,

Life is a sweet thirst, you always say,

Pal pal dilke pass tum rehtee ho,

Herr shaam ankhon par, tera aanchal lehraye,

Every evening your dress flutters over my eyes,

Herr raat yaadon kee barat ley aye,

Every night brings your memories in a musical parade,

Main saans leta hoon,

Every time I breathe,

Teri khushboo aatee hai,

Your fragrance comes to me,

Ek mehka mehkkasa paigam latee hai,

Brings scented gifts for me,

Mere dil kee dhadkan bhi tere geet gatee hai,

Even the beats of my heart, sing your songs,

Pal pal dilke pass tum rehtee ho,

Jeevan meethee pyaas yeh kehtee ho,

Pal pal dilke pass tum rehtee ho,

Every second you are close to my heart,

Life is a sweet thirst, you always say,

Kal tujhko dekha tha maine apney aangan mein,

Saw you yesterday,in my garden,

Jaise keh rahee thee tum,

As if you were saying,

Mujhe baandhlo bandhan mein,

Please bind me in a relationship,

Yeh kaisa rishta hai, yeh kaise sapne hai?

What kind of relation is this, what kind of dreams are these?

Begane hokar bhi, kyun lagte apne hai?

Despite being strangers, why do I feel you are mine?

Mai sochte rehta hoon, dar darke kehta hoon,

I keep wondering, and say this with trepidation,

Pal pal dilke pass tum rehtee ho,

Jeevan meethee pyaas yeh kehtee ho,

Pal pal dilke pass tum rehtee ho,

Every second you are close to my heart,

Life is a sweet thirst, you always say,

Tum sochogee kyun itna mai tumse pyaar karoon?

You will wonder, why I love you so much?

Tum samjhogee deewana, main bhee ikraar karoon,

You may feel I am crazy, so you too will join my madness,

Deewanonkee yeh batein, deewane jaante hain,

Crazy lovers’ such feelings, only other crazies can understand,

Jalney mein kya maja hai, parwane jaante hai,

The fun of getting burnt, only the parwana knows,

Tum yoonhi jalaatey rehna,aa aakar khwabon mein,

Please keep burning me, just like this by coming in my dreams,

Pal pal dilke pass tum rehtee ho,

Jeevan meethee pyaas yeh kehtee ho,

Pal pal dilke pass tum rehtee ho,

Every second you are close to my heart,

Life is a sweet thirst, you always say,

Note : In Indian poetry Parwana and the flame of a lamp are considered as inseparable lovers. Parwana is the fly that suddenly appears after the rains at night..the type that comes in hordes n dies in the night near the light, loses it wings . These flies are so attracted by the flame they actually fly into it and die. They say the flame burns for her lover, n he willingly gets into it even though he ends up dying. Flame is female, the fly male.

Light a candle near your window and see this happen..

Enjoy!

Hey if anyone reads this and can improve it please do, I shall only be glad to accept.

Drop you Inhibitions

Hi Folks,
the interenet is such a great place to be yourself! No worries, no thought for what someone will think,eh? The place to let yourself GO! To do what your heart desires. To behave like you want, with no issues of propriety.

I have been a webber from some time now and find that this is the true beauty of the net. I did things that I would never do in real life. My latent desires have found expression in this world. WOW!

The one thing you need to do when you get on board this boat,DROP YOUR INHIBITIONS!
Be what you really want to be. Do as you wish. Feel the exhilarating freshness of being carefree!
Stop holding yourself back, what happiness! LET YOURSELF GO!

I am sure lots of people out there agree with me and will enthusiastically respond to my thoughts. I do hope you folks out there, send in your posts about how you feel fulfilled and what are your most memorable experiences on the net.

The only word of caution, by being free of inhibitions, please use the released energies only to be good, not hurtful or deceiving. OK?

Love soommey.
