bahut shaadamaan the hum unko bhulaa kar
achaanak ye kyaa ho gayaa,
ke chehare pe ranga-e-malaal aa gayaa
huyee shaam un kaa khayaal aa gayaa

Till now smug smiles were playing on my lips,
And was feeling happy at having forgotten her,
Then suddenly what is this happening?
That my face has gone ashen,
